Get involved

If you are a woman-identifying person, or if you have female breasts and identify as gender diverse* you can be involved in The Bare Breasted Project!

Your involvement will consist of the following:

You will have your breasts photographed by the artist (neck to waist only) at an agreed location in the Central Wellington region (this can be your home, the artist’s studio, or elsewhere) or in Auckland, at a central location to be confirmed. Your photo  will be exhibited alongside all other photos in the project. All photos will be exhibited anonymously, however you will be invited to have your name credited generally alongside other subjects as part of the exhibition, if you choose.

You will be interviewed by the artist about your relationship with your breasts. This interview will be recorded and will be woven into an audio work that will play inside the exhibition space.

You will be invited to attend a pre-exhibition hui with all other participants in the project on 11 February 2019.

You may also be invited to participate in the performative aspect of the work, in which performers will be stationed, bare breasted, inside and around the exhibition space, asking viewers for comment on their own thoughts and feelings about female breasts.

To be involved, please email thebarebreastedproject@gmail.com

If being part of this project interests you, the first step you need to take is to send us an email expressing your interest and providing your name and phone number. The artist will be in touch with you to answer any questions you might have and to arrange a time and place for the photography shoot and interview to take place.
